Basswood Chalet & Guesthouse offers more than just a venue and a great getaway home in the heart of the Blue Diamond resort area.  Onsite services include a seminary-trained, ordained interfaith minister, photographer, videographer, keyboardist, and full-service audio/video production capabilities for businesses, musicians and more.

The Chalet.

The Basswood Chalet is a warm, cozy, intimate place to get married!  Indoor elegance or an outdoor Bohemian style fit right in here.  If your image of your special day is a simple, elegant, romantic ceremony in front of a 22 foot tall river rock fireplace, on a rustic balcony while your guests are seated below you, or among the canopy of trees or tamarack marshlands, we can make your dreams come true here.

Decorate the space yourself or use one of our recommended event stylists.

Licensed caterers are welcome to use our kitchen facilities for assembly and service purposes. We also can recommend amazing chefs who will complement your vision of your perfect day.

Small meetings are also welcome here.  Consider getting away from the distractions at the office with your executive team! Basswood Chalet is wired with a fiber connection, offering super-fast internet highway speeds.  Recording of your meeting is available and large monitors for viewing are available for an additional fee.

Please note parking is limited to protect the beauty of Basswood's forest and marshlands, so carpooling or a shuttle from another location is recommended.

The Guesthouse.

Basswood's Guesthouse was designed by the first owners as their residence while the Chalet was being built.  As a result it's a full one-bedroom home with over 750 square feet of comfort.  Today we rent it to guests to enjoy all the New Auburn and Lower Long Lake area has to offer, as well as offering a place for couples to stay before and/or after their ceremony at the Chalet, to celebrate their anniversary year-after-year, to renew & rejuvenate their relationship, for writers wishing to start or finish a project, for musicians looking to compose and record in a place that inspires, or for those wishing to just get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Entrepreneurs seeking solitude for planning purposes find all the comforts of home, spreading out room and high speed internet access without distractions meaning better outcomes.  Personal or couples spiritual retreats are also a favorite here.  

Basswood Chalet & Guesthouse is a wonderful place to get back in touch with those you love - yourself included!  Pamper yourself with an upgraded package including a welcome basket, continental breakfast each morning,  celebration package or all of the above.  References to massage therapists, natural healers and others are available upon request.

• Co-owner Rev. Ronnie Roll is a seminary-trained, formally ordained interfaith minister and wedding officiant, mediator, arbitrator and conflict resolution specialist.  She is available to perform ceremonies on site or at any other location of your choosing, to facilitate difficult conversations or guide your relationship into a healthier space.  For more information on her ministerial services, please see www.RevRonnie.net and www.heartsunlimited.org.

What We Provide

The Chalet.

The chalet is our private home.  We open it for guests wishing to get married, photo shoots or small gatherings, meetings, etc.  
Our main living room hosts a working 22 foot tall river rock fireplace and a beautiful rustic balcony with staircase, just perfect for photo opportunities and a bride's grand entrance.
There is a guest bathroom available on the same level as the living room.
Outside there is a wrap-around deck on the front of the chalet that can also be decorated, with wedding ceremonies being held on it during good weather.  Nestled among the trees is another perfect location for that Bohemian-style wedding or ceremony, with easy walk-in or drive-up access.  Check back often for progress updates.
Please note parking is limited, so carpooling or shuttle service is recommended, and required for larger guest lists.

The Guesthouse.

Our guesthouse is a wonderful place to renew, rejuvenate and be inspired by the surrounding natural environment.  It's a fully furnished one bedroom home complete with all the pots, pans, plates and full-size kitchen appliances you might want or need to nestle away for a few days to write that book or reconnect with your special someone.
Want to go fishing?  Bring your boat along! Your trailer has room to park here and there's a lesser known boat landing located within a very quick walk to Basswood Chalet & Guesthouse.
Upgraded packages can include a continental breakfast basket and/or celebration upgrade with plush bathrobes, special decorating, welcome treats and more.
Referrals to a licensed mobile massage therapist who comes to the guesthouse are available, meaning you can enjoy your massage and relax without ever leaving.
